Laughter Threapy:
Bogotá, June of 2017. The Doctor Clown Foundation launches the great National Collection “Give Happiness a Boost”, an event that will be held on July 14th, 15th and 16th in order to raise funds that will benefit, primarily children, girls, older adults, health workers and vulnerable communities through social transformation strategies and Laughter Therapy.
During this month, the organization invites Colombians to participate in this great national holiday that will be held in the main streets and shopping centers of Bogotá, Medellín, Bucaramanga, Villavicencio and Barrancabermeja. The points will be identifiable by the presence of the Doctors Clown, that of the volunteers who will wear the official white breastplate of the Doctor Clown Foundation, along with the piggy banks and red noses that clinical clowns use.
The money collected in this large collection will go to more than 500 Laughter Therapies for 40 thousand children hospitalized, 70 thousand companions and medical staff from more than 80 health centers located in eight regions of Colombia.
Girls participating in “Peace and Art” project:
- Massive strategy “Peace and Art” that benefits more than 100 children from the village of Quiba Guabal, located in the rural area of Bogotá.
- Scientific research on the effects of therapeutic humor on the surgical intervention of pediatric patients and oncological treatment
- Project “Love Therapy”, life hugs for 200 abandoned babies to reduce neonatal withdrawal syndrome.
“We are very excited about this collection because more Colombians will be able to benefit from these smiles that leave their mark. We want to continue bringing about change in hospitals, protection centers, foster homes and the wider community,” said Luz Adriana Neira, director of the Doctor Clown Foundation. It will be a campaign full of joy where we will have Doctors Clowns, and their wonderful therapies based on magic, humor, music, love, and, above all, that passion that characterizes us,” he concluded.
The Foundation is also calling on companies to come together, generating collection strategies in their organizations. Interested parties can contact us via email: colectanacional@doctoraclown.org
